Evil Empress Rey Realized: A Star Wars Fan’s Captivating Cosplay Tribute

ZooGirlQ, the content creator, explores the darker side of the Force as Empress Rey, now known as Palpatine in stunning Star Wars cosplay photos.

One Star Wars cosplayer shared photos of herself in the role of Empress Palpatine (Rey Skywalker’s dark side character) on social media.

ZooGirlQ, a content creator, recently posted photos of herself as Dark Rey. “[C]all me.. Empress,” she posted on Twitter. She also shared some impressive photos which show the character’s iconic double-bladed lightsaber. In a response to a fan who questioned the creator of the content, she said that she was inspired by her cosplay “off fan art by @dazzlingjedi.” The Sith version of Daisy Ridley’s Rey first made an appearance in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as a vision of a mirror image, featuring Rey performing this mirror image of herself on the wreckage of the second Death Star.

Ridley was the first actor to play Rey in Episode 7 of the Skywalker Saga. This episode was the 2015’s Star Wars, The Force Awakens. As the main character of the trilogy sequel, Rey also appeared in 2017’s The Last Jedi and 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. In addition to the films, the character has appeared in several related media like video games such as LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Battlefront II and animated web series like Star Wars Forces of Destiny.

Rey is revealed in The Force Awakens as a Scavenger who was left on the planet Jakku when she was an infant. She becomes involved in the Resistance’s conflict with the First Order after finding out she is Force-sensitive. She succeeds in gaining the skills to become a Jedi under Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Leia Organa, and sets out to rebuild the Jedi Order. Her name is Rey Skywalker.

Do you think Daisy Ridley plays Rey again?

Although the sequel trilogy actors initially expressed disinterest in the franchise after The Rise of Skywalker was released, they have since reversed their statements. Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the sequel trilogy, recently stated that he would be open to “anything.” Ridley has also said that she’d like to use a lightsaber once again, and also stated at the 2022 BAFTAs “I’ll always be Rey.” In 2021, she also announced that she had just met with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, although the details of the meeting were not disclosed. At the moment, Ridley or Rey are not confirmed to be in any upcoming Star Wars projects.

Lucasfilm is working on a variety of Star Wars films at the moment, with one by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof reportedly taking place following the events in The Rise of Skywalker. Lindelof’s movie, however, is not the 10th Skywalker Saga episode, but more likely the very first Star Wars project that explores the post-TROS timeline. Though plot details aren’t clear as of now, Lindelof is still busy co-writing the script for the film with Justin Britt-Gibson. However, sources have said that the movie may feature characters from the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
